A hookah and rifle in tow, actress Vidya Balan revealed the Begum Jaan poster and she owns the role as the madam of a brothel in the Srijit Mukherji film.
Begum Jaan is an upcoming Bollywood movie, which is being directed by Srijit Mukherji. It is high-voltage drama film and Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah in lead roles and also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Ila Arun, Gauahar Khan, Pallavi Sharda, Rajit Kapoor, Ashish Vidyarthi, Vivek Mushran, Chunky Pandey, Poonam Singh Rajput, Ridheema Tiwari, Flora Saini, Priyanka Setia, Mishti Chakraborty, Sumit Nijhawan, Pitobash and Rajesh Sharma in pivotal roles. The film will release on 14 April 2017. Begum Jaan is based on his acclaimed Bengali film Rajkahini, it marks his Bollywood debut.
Unveiling the first look, Vidya, a National Award winning director Srijit Mukherji, tweeted: "Aa rahi hoon main! #BegumJaanFirstLook."
'When Freedom fought Independence' is the tagline of the movie and a brazen-faced Vidya reinforces the essence of her character "My Body, My House, My Country and My Rules" in the maiden poster.
